| When the truth dies.... It baffles me how people often fail to see the obvious! the actions taken by the current administration are not questionable, they are outrageous and completely unexcusable. This goes beyond the whole idea of liberalism and conservatisim and has little to do with democracy. I am not going to go back to the old story of the war in Iraq by now almost everybody (at least those with common sense) have realized that the war was not only unnecessary (and illegal) but rather harmul to this nation. although it did help the economy (reconstruction, manufacturing of weapons etc.) it cost the country a great amount of human lives and much pain and suffering for the Iraqi people (please for their sake, don't even try and bring the "we saved you"line in ur replies because those people were probably safer in the past) while osama and other notable terrorists are yet to be caught. Moreso we have to consider the numerous amounts of scandals that have been going on here at home, the Plame affair,Abrahamoff,Cheney's stray bullet amongst others. All the while the only thing that the American people are sure of is the fact that some poeple out there are willing to bring great harm to the country. there is no doubt that we are at war, those terrorists made it clear, but often i wonder is this war fought correctly? And now the president decided to allow some ports to fall in the hands of another arab country!(great timing i must say!) there is no doubt that terrorists will find an invaluable passageway to the US if they can access the ports and the lives of many would be at stake so why on God's earth is Bush doing this? (this time around the Republican Party is even against it). In complete honesty, i think that this administration is wrong and essentially focused on individual interests and not those of the country, furthermore this whole idea of the republican party been synonimous with conservatism pisses me off because you cannot adhere strictly to one idealogy especially in politics there has to be a balanced and pragmatic thinking to it, plus religion and state are not meant to be together, i do not support abortion or gay marriage not because of religion but because of morality (which is not necessarily synonimous with religion) and pragmatism and i could care less if some folks would view me as a liberal on certain issues or a "rockefeller republican"(which i proudly am). the truth of the matter is....Bush was a mistake in 2000 (not crazy for gore and liebermann either but.....) and if this adminstration continues like thisw, then things could get really bad for every one! | |||||||||||||||||||||

We've had worse. I mean... FDR had those internment camps, Adams had the Alien and Sedition Acts, and then there's the brutal occupation and annexation of Hawaii and The Philippines, under TR. And Jimmy Carter. He's a great guy, but he was a crappy president. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

I never knew that was said on Sept. 11th. Interesting. --- help me Instant Runoff Voting, you're my only hope --- "There is no such thing as laziness. Laziness is only lack of incentive."
