And this is why the world hates us.
They hate your arrogance, and what it has wrought.
And because I share a country with you, they hate me too.
Thanks a lot. | What a load of crap!!!! Countries have always acted in the best interest of themselves. Saudi Arabia and the other countries of OPEC limit the amount of oil that is drilled, to raise prices to make money. France, Germany and Russia voted against the US in the UN Security Council to protect their side dealings with Saddam Hussein and their supplying of weapons for oil.
This is a grown up world, and we play power politics, we offer others the choice of carrot or stick. It is that simple. Our leaders have a responsibility to do what it in the best interest of this country, which may not always be what is in the best interest of another country.
If you don't like them hating us, and by your presence here, yourself, here's a novel idea, LEAVE. I don't like Alec Baldwins who talk all kind of shit and then remain to take advantage of the freedoms provided here. Grow a set of balls and get the frack out.

dmk | Really? Grown up? Sounds pretty childish to me.
The problem with your argument is that going rogue and not caring about the international community's opinion isn't in the best interests of our country. Since when was creating enemies and loosing friends in the world in the best interests of our country?? Not only that, but since when was invading Iraq and creating a virtual breeding ground for terrorist organizations in the best interest of the United States?
It doesn't matter if you think interventionism is wrong or right, even from a pro-war standpoint, the Iraq war was a huge strategic blunder.

In fact, I have had it hurled angrily at me many times before, by people that I don't like: one-dimensional flagwaving warmongers who think America would be better off if freedom of speech meant freedom to verbally support and approve of our government's actions, no matter what.
See, unlike you, I recognize and uphold your right to believe and say what you like, no matter how much I disagree with it. I embrace this most basic of American principles, while you seek to suppress it.
Huh. I guess that makes me a better American than you, doesn't it?
Which is sort of ironic from where you think you sit, isn't it? |

BTW even though I disagree with you on most things I never asked you to leave the country.

Level up: 44%, 133 Points needed | | Yes, yes, full credit for not asking me to leave my country.
Admirable restraint you are showing there.
Likewise, thanks for not asking me to kill myself. |
