Sort of similar, but you get the choice to invest your money that is in that "lockbox".
I am not going to say I am for or against private accounts. I do not know enough about them. However from what I understand, they seem like they are not a bad idea, but they should be optional.

I think Americans should be given the choice of Social Security or Private Accounts. What's so bad about that?

What is wrong with it is that money would go back into the corporations hands giving them even more wealth and power (not like they don't have enough as it is). It would only lead to more corporate power and less democracy.

The more choices...the better.

hevusa feels that Americans need more choices for a leader to lead this nation instead of just voting for a "Democrat" or "Republican".

I don't think that's such a bad idea.

You really don't like corporations huh? LOL

Why is that? Don't get me wrong, I do believe many of them are evil, but really, they are not all bad, and they do do some good...

I'm not so much against corporations as I am corporations having political influence.

The social security plan Bush has failed with would only bring more money back into the hands of people that already have enough dough.

Well I can certainly understand your concern there. I agree that they should not have political influence either.
