While I applaud the ABA for their investigation, my only question is when will they turn there eyes towards Congress??? For years now, Congress has passed laws that apply to the citizens of this country, yet they themselves have remained exempt from them. If they are going to be our law makers, should not the laws they pass apply not only to us the people, but to them as well???? Social Security, EEOO, affirmative action, and a wide array of laws or policies established by Congressionally mandated bureaus have all be ignored or do not apply to Congress. Why no outrage over this simple fact???

I think the answer to your last question lies in the lack of publicity made over the fact.

People talk about the "liberal media" or the "right-wing media", but I think a bigger impact exists in how the media has been "tamed" by people in power. (I'm not talking about "conservatives" or "liberals" in power, but just the general category like "Congress" in general.)
The media just doesn't ask the tough questions anymore.

McCarthyism had some true heroes in the media who risked their jobs in trying to expose the propagandic trickery. Today, when the stakes are lower, I think the media has shown even less of that heroic spirit.

Does it take a Katrina these days before they start asking the tough questions?

Just my two cents worth.

Congress has no problem voting for and passing laws that increase their salaries.
If the opposite of pro is con, what is Congress?
