Military
This is an all-VOLUNTARY military. I grew up dirt poor. You know what I did? I worked hard at a foundry near where I lived. Started sweeping the floors then worked up to supervisor then to management. I didn’t join the military in ’94. Why? Because I didn’t want to shoot people! The people in the military knew going in what could happen. They weighed the options of the benefits the military will give with the possibility of going to war. Plus the option of working, there’s a concept, WORKING. They chose to take the benefits. Now some want to take the benefits AND not go to war. In their contract, which they should have read, it said they could be called after their obligation is up if we are at war. It didn’t say ‘unless you feel it’s a just war’. I feel their pain but I’m also a realist. People need to take responsibility for their own lives for once. I didn’t hear the anti-war people when we went into samolia and lost lives there. Its hypocrisy at its worst.

war
We are at war with al qeada and other terrorist groups that actually declared war in the mid 90’s but ‘used restraint’ (according to Churchill) until they killed over 2000 people in one day. That was more than Pearl Harbor. Bush said ‘mission accomplished’ meaning major battle was won; we demolished sadaam’s army. He never said the WAR was over. The fact we haven’t had an attack here in the US since 9/11 is proof we are doing something right in this war. I would rather fight them in Iraq than in NYC.

We should have attacked Saudi Arabia then... or Afghanistan. Iraq?? What a heap of dung.

We ARE in Afghanistan. And we don’t have any reason to believe Saudi Arabia has nuclear weapons, though they are corrupt and we are pressing them to dry up known terrorist sympathizers. Same with Pakistan, they are cooperating with the war on terror. Plus those countries didn’t have 17 resolutions from the UN. If those countries didn’t cooperate like Sadaam I would agree. But I respect your opinion, especially the 'heap of dung' statement. Nice...

So you still believe the lies about the WMD's don't you? You are brainwashed beyond belief.

They weren't lies Saddam did have WMD. He used them! When we entered Iraq it's obvious they are either hidden or he got rid of them. But you can't erase the past, he did have them and he did use them. The UN acknowledged this in the mid/late 90's.

I'm sure a lot of what the soldiers do in wars is gut instinct instilled in them thru basic training. But it's done for a purpose... if a soldier wasted a split second deciding if he actually wanted to kill the other soldier he might be risking the lives of the rest of his squad.

According to Hans Blix you are full of shit, and I trust his word over the above sentiment. Saddam posed no threat in 2002 when we invaded. The inspections were working and that is the direct word that Bush ignored and then proved.

And that isn't even mentioning that the CIA told the Bush administration the exact same thing.

Yes you are right. So lets forget about him..wait till 2003 or later when he does pose a threat once again as he has in the past. Taking him down was the smartest thing to do.

Kerry agreed..I think? Did he?

You are very smart.
