 I feel sorry for those who rely on their SS check for a living, however, this is the system that we created and that members of Congress which to keep alive. Don't worry the Government will take care of you, and so many people believe it and buy into it, that they do not take the necessary steps to take care of themselves. Lo and behold, retirement approaches and instead of enjoying the fruits of your labor over you life, you find that the government is unable to take care of you and you wind up being a door greeter at Wal Mart.
Yet every time SS reform is mentioned, the doom and gloomers ound their chests and scare people into believing what they say. Instead of wanting people to be economically free, they want people to be dependent on government. For as long as they are, these doom and gloomers have a secure future making their 6 digit incomes for lobbying Congress to keep the same broken down, and soon to be bankrupt system.
Stop believing that Government can do for you what you yourself should be doing for yourself. The American people are too free-spirited and independent minded to embrace socialism. The reforms necessary for the Government to care for you from cradle to grave will never be totally enacted, and if they are, they will never succeed for those who are success will find ways to make sure that their hard earned money is not spent by the looters in this country.
We see that SS does not work, Medicaid/Medicare are just as bad if not worse, and yet people still clamour for universal healthcare. Try, try and try again, yet each time Government fails. When will we learn.
