House passes bail out bill
So much for the republican free market philosophy. RIP 2008

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

Once again this crash has nothing to do with the Free Market, had Congress not gotten involved in the housing industry, the crash may have never occured. Banks would have continued to give loans only to those who could meet the criteria. Instead, thanks to pressure from Congress through community organizations like ACORN, banks caved in and gave loans to individuals to buy homes they could not afford. The costs of homes were inflated due to demand, and now as a result, the banks have unpaid mortgages for homes that have inflated prices.

Why do I point my finger so hard at ACORN, well they received in the 2008 Housing Bill a lion's share of the $600 million dollars Congress gave to community organizations. There work was paid for by the Congress. Both groups need to take a good hard look at the damage they have caused.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

You are correct. Of course, we must consider individual responsibility. Those people who accepted such loans that they could not afford can hardly be held harmless. You can not rely on the government to remedy your bad decisions.

I have a solution: Live in a home that is slightly below your means. Save some money. Stop being stupid and demanding the governement to come fix it for you.

Another piece of advise: Don't live in California where the price of a 3 bedroom, 1 bath ranch is $500,000.

This thread is referring to the bail out... not crash.
