Cool thought. There are plenty of funds to go around in America to support more than two parties though.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

The problem is apathy. Republicans and Democrats can motivate their grass roots to get out and be active and vote, however, there is a large segment of the population that just does not care.

It is not that the Republicans and Democrats have a stranglehold on the money, but rather that far too many of the third party candidates have a narrow issue range. I mean really the Green party, sure they have a great environmental policy but what else????

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

I wouldn't say that's true. Although that's not to say that I entirely disagree. Any party in any election, Democrat and Republican included, have their main issues. Its just a simple fact of campaigns. While the Republicans had hot-button yet trivial things like gay marriage and abortion their main issues, and the Democrats the Iraq war and the deficit, the Green's central issue was obviously the environment. The Green Party isn't just about the environemnt, they're against big business and corporatism being above the law, or getting handouts from the government. They're anti-imperialism, they're anti-military industrial complex, and anti-war. From what I remember from their platform they're feminist and highly democratic in the small "d" form of the word.

I guess you could consider them libertarians that make the environment their number one issue. Or libertarians that just aren't for laissez-faire. But then again not all libertarians are for laissez-faire.

But anyway don't take my word for it. Go to their website.

About cops arresting a couple for asking directions....... I am not going to get into cops vs minorities when the minorities didn't do anything (family and friends and me...). Yes, I believe the story because I KNOW it can happen..... Do you want me to tell you all about the stupid things cops do? Do you want me to tell you about selectively enforcing the law? (We aren't talking about the criminals, here.) Life is soo unfair...can you hate me and people like me for getting mine/ours?

They once opened a new mortgage company and invited certain people. They even had a band..... Of course the unwashed masses were not invited. However, this party was held outside on the lawn.....and I sat on the grass by the curb--public land (?). I wanted to enjoy the music for a while. Nobody told me to go and nobody told me to sit down and join the party.... A lot of local bigshots were there....... What do you think would have happened to me if I party crashed?..... I bet if one of their own kind party crashed........... That is why I get mine.....when I can....
