But I think of George Will (Doctor Will, I believe) more as a political conservative, than a Republican party loyalist.

I was a William F. Buckley Jr. fan. But he's tapering down his career. Since his professional recession, George Will has to some degree filled that vacuum.

Perhaps an obvious truism. But not a likely declaration from a Republican loyalist.*

Logical. Libertarian. But as the Republicans have gone along w/ raising the min. wage, I'd call George Will's position here "conservative", not "Republican".

I think of him as conservative.

I admire his intellect.
I admire his communication skills.
And I even find he often agrees with me politically.

I regret there aren't 10 more like him out there.

Republican policies, particularly in the 3rd millennium, under the "leadership" of Bush / Cheney, have proven spectacularly detrimental to the human race in general, and the Peoples of the United States of America, and Iraq in particular.
But Republicans, apart from their capacity to serve politically, or vote politically, aren't distinguishably worse than their Democratic brethren.
