Defending the Truth

I have simply stated what I feel is the truth. If that was back pedalling you are the king of this concept. Every post in here is your opinion and nothing has pointed to the fact that you know a thing about the economy. You are arguing for the sake of argument. You still refuse to present any evidence that our economy will remain stable. It is all just Blah, Blah, Blah. Your comments are what might happen too, all of them. Not once have you provided anything to back your claims. As for the copy and paste, I'm glad you like it. Try finding something that will back your claims. Other than that I am done with this thread. I've asked you for proof of your words in almost every post. All you can do is run your mouth. Not a bit of evidence. Pretty much your typical troll. I am done crossing this bridge. 1. I have continued to say that the American economy is strong and robust - WHICH IT IS. You just couldn't leave it alone, since there's a Republican in the Whitehouse - so you jumped in and made a fool of yourself.

2. I have never said that the economy will remain stable. That is another of your ASSumptions.

3. Wrong again. I have provided numerous links showing that the American economy is strong and robust RIGHT NOW - despite the fact that you hate President Bush.

There are two main reasons why having a high national debt is bad for the economy.

1. If our creditors decide that we aren't going to make good on our debt, then we're in big trouble. Basically, the government has to raise federal interest rates in order to pay off the interest on the debt. As a result, interest rates on everything else go up... Mortgages, credit cards, cars, etc. As a result people buy less, or buy smaller, or buy cheaper, which causes an economic recession.

2. Just paying off the interest on a high debt hurts the economy. Right now, 15 cents of every tax dollar goes to paying off the interest on the debt, most of which is held be foreign organizations. That means billions of dollars are leaving the US, and aren't being returned to Americans like tax dollars are, in services and the pockets of politicians, who, at least, are American.

You posted a couple of links at the beginning of this thread saying how robust the economy is. I said it will not continue and you asked for some backing. I posted the bloomberg thing because you ask for some proof. Then you did nothing but claim how I know nothing about it and that the bloomberg report is just speculation. Then you claim you have posted links to support your attack on my stance that the economy will fail from all the borrowing and spending. Then you say you never did that. You say you only said the economy is good right now.
Why attack my stance then? I never said the economy wasn't good right now and you claim you only made the same statement. Attacking my stance is the same thing as saying the economy will continue to be healthy. I guess if we agree the economy is good now and you claim you haven't speculated on it's future, then case closed.
Our economy will fail at our current rate of borrowing and growing deficit. Just wait until interest rates start to rise and see what happens.
