Minimum wage doesn't cut it in the real world.
Most people working minimum wage are students. If you are trying to live on minimum wage and that is all you have going for you, then you are either one stupid person or lazy and I can't help that. The government is not supposed to be a nanny.

You obviously don't get out in the real world much. When is the last time you went to a Wal-Mart, Dunkin' Donuts or McDonald's or whatever national chain you've got in your neighborhood? In the real world, it's not just kids out there behind the cash register taking orders. Around here, it's also those who need jobs to support their families who can't afford to take time out of life to improve their lot in life. Get over the fantasy world you live in and take a walk in the real world for once, with your eyes open.

You gotta start somewhere. Nobody, without competitive job skills, deserves a $50,000 per year job to start.

You guys can spin it any way you want, but the bottom line is that the unemployment rate CONTINUES TO GO DOWN!

BS!

I went back and got a Master's Degree AFTER I was married, had 3 young children - AND was employed full time, working 50-60 hours per week. It was danged hard work, but it can be done!

Those who claim that it CANNOT be done are nothing more than the people who are TOO LAZY TO DO IT.

If you are the sole support of a family and all you can make is minimum wage, you had no business having kids and that makes that person stupid. Where in the constitution does it say I have to supplement a person's income because they are too stupid to take care of themselves?

I went to McDonalds just a few days ago. There were a few older women who are married and supplementing their income and a couple retired men supplementing thier income. A few were high school or college kids working part time. The only full-time employee was the supervisor and I know he doesn't make minimum wage. Maybe your propaganda is not working. Maybe you need to find a new talking point.

Everybody wants to make $100,000 per year.

But businesses simply cannot afford that.

So... should people get a reasonable wage, or no wage at all, because there are no jobs?

Is that the median wage or the mean wage? There is a difference.

I agree. Minimum wage is the one of the greatest con games the dems ever invented. Every union has a built in clause that states their wages automatically go up when the minimum wage does. Who gives to dems? Unions. Who is always screaming for a higher minimum wage? Dems. Dems are not for the common man. Every time the minimum wage goes up, the common man has to pay more for a burger at lunch. That doesn't help me. All I get out of it is some kid who can't make change for a 5 unless a machine tells him and has pimples oozing pus and handling my food.
