I want to see some verifiable evidence of that. And I want to see an explanation of it.

Big city, rich college kid spouting off about farmers.

What an ignorant dolt.

That sounds very "Democrat" to me.

Bush inherited a recession, and the economy is now the strongest it has been in (perhaps) decades.

The U.S. Agricultural Department is required by law to subsidize over two dozen commodities. Between 1996 and 2002, an average of $16 billion/year was paid by programs authorized by federal legislation dating back to the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1933, the Agricultural Act of 1949, and the Commodity Credit Corporation, among others.

No explanation.

Can you explain to me how the "target price" system works?
Can you explain how the governments "cheap food" policy affects this?
Can you break down what was paid to what "farmers" for what?

I didn't think so.

You're a fan of free trade.
Why don't we let free trade take care of the farming industry much the same way that you think it should take care of other business?

No explanation.

Do you even know the difference between the front end of a cow, and the back end of a boar?

You don't know JACK SQUAT about supposed "farm subsidies". Do you know how much of the USDA "pot" goes to the Food Stamp program?

I know which one you resemble...
< end sarcasm >

I grew up on the farm.
Why are you ducking the issue?

Why do we give BILLIONS in welfare for farmers so they don't have to compete with free trade?

You complain about welfare for one group, but not the other.
Kind of like how you were complaining about vaccinations in BLACK neighborhoods, ignoring the WHITE neighborhoods that also had them.

Columbus isn't all that big; and before you mouth off to people, know your facts before you turn out to be an inconsiderate jackass. I'm lower middle class, not rich.

And by your logic, you're an ignorant dolt along with all country folk to voice an opinion about city life.

The reference was because you obviously support welfare for farmers yet you can't stand it when it comes to inner city people (who would actually need it more). And I never said you were racist; but if you're going to make that conclusion that only says one thing about yourself.
