| The government does not define what is a full-time employee. The only declarative statement the government makes regarding hours worked is for those who are students and that any one who works over 40 hours in a week is eligible for overtime pay and the rate. It is the employer who determines what constitutes a full-time employee and what benefits said employee will receive. That means that when someone interviews for a job and is offered a job, they should ask what is the company's policy on what denotes a full-time employee, am I being hired as a full-time employee and what are my recourses if the company reduces my hours?? It is not the fault of Walmart or any other company that people are too stupid, lazy, or whatever else, and they do not take the time to get this information. We spend how many billions on education each year??? If the state run school system is not going to teach the student how the real world works, then who is???? dmk Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles -Russell Kirk- | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Maybe the state run school systems are leaving something out of public education to serve their own agendas. So many people don't know what the laws are out there, so they don't know when their rights are being trampled. Who gets served by this? The corporations and the money holders at all levels, public and private, including the government. Our Task must be to free ourselves... by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures, the whole of nature, and its beauty. | We can fill a semester of classes with what is left out of the public educational system. If the purpose of compulsory laws regarding attendance are made to ensure that students are prepared for the world, then it is the responsiblity of those who teach to instruct on how the world works. However, there is one main problem. Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach......... dmk Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology.
