Once again with witch burning and separate but equal you are confusing what man has argued as consitutional not what the Consitution has said. Both of those instances were interpretations of the Consitution, however, the Constitution is quite clear on the death penalty, no individual shall be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of the law. dmk Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles -Russell Kirk-

| Ok Folks The death penalty is ok when its some one that we belive is a horrible unhuman scurge walking the earth.... but we all know that the principalities will use this ...and have to decide that certain groups of humans neede to stop breathing... i.e BLACKS, GAYS , PEOPLE with BASEBALL CAPs.... getting the picture... here is a artical written from the hourses mouth... LAW ENFORSEMENT Hew starts with ......In the words of Harry Browne (1996 and 2000 Libertarian Presidential Candidate), "Government doesn't work." Once you make anything the responsibility of government, those who have the most political power will make the rules. That goes for law enforcement as well as any other government program, and none of them work. Despite the best intentions of most law enforcement officers, they are controlled by politicians. Politicians do not answer to good intentions. They answer to power and the accumulation of more power. From voter registration to ballot access to gerrymandering to campaign finance reform, the goal of those in power is to retain and increase their power. Find a politician who will support removing all political party designations from election ballots, and you may have found someone who cares for something more than himself. No Republican or Democrat would want their party affiliation to be removed from the ballot. Why is that? If either party truly wanted an informed electorate, party designation should be removed from the ballots. Otherwise, voters are selecting a party, not a candidate. There is one elected Libertarian Sheriff in the U.S. That is Bill Masters in San Miguel County in Colorado. He's been Sheriff for over 20 years. Last time he was challenged, he received 80% of the vote. He ran unopposed the last two elections. His main issue - he opposes the War on Drugs He has published a book titled "Drug War Addiction". He points out how the Drug War has allowed politicians to trample on our rights, makes criminals of many who have not harmed anyone else, cost the lives of many innocent citizens, and has made violent crimes a lower law enforcement priority than even minor drug possession offenses. To quote from Harry Browne again, from his book "The Great Libertarian Offer", Government also knows how to break your legs, hand you a crutch, and say, "See, without the government you wouldn't be able to walk." It takes half your money, and then graciously offers to let you have a fraction of it back as a subsidy. Thirty years of government health-care programs have sent medical costs skyrocketing; so politicians tell the elderly, "Without Medicare you couldn't survive." Its educational subsidies and mandates have multiplied the cost of college many times over; so politicians tell the young, "Without a student loan, you couldn't afford to go to college." Politicians know how to make you forget how easy life was before government broke your legs. Asking politicians to fix problems caused by politics only gives them more power. They'll listen to you. They'll "feel your pain." They'll promise reform and carry on with your blessing, but nothing really changes. In just the last sixteen years, we've had Democrat and Republican Presidents, Democrat and Republican Congresses, but the politicians carry on as usual. Until we break the stranglehold the old parties have on American politics, nothing will change. Reform is not the answer. Repeal of laws where the government grants itself powers not authorized by the Constitution is. Keep in mind that the only crimes the federal government is allowed to address by the Constitution are counterfeiting, piracy, and treason. Yet, due to federal mandates, crime-fighting money and manpower is wasted on seat-belt enforcement. Local drug possession laws are over-ridden by federal statutes. Here in Indiana, federal asset-forfeiture laws take money that state law intends for education. If you want long-term change as well as any short-term improvements, fight for open and reasonable ballot access laws. Support third-party candidates. Obviously, I'm partial to the Libertarian Party, but votes for any other party - Libertarian, Green, Constitution, Socialist - diminish the power of those who seek to control the political process. Don't depend on those in power to fix problems they helped cause in the first place. Barry Campbell Got it now .... ber careful what you wish for | |||||||||||||||||||||

You say the government is murdering blacks left and right. Well everyone goes to trial before they are thrown away for life...Innocent until proven guilty. Again according to your assumption, there seems to be no courts. That's not the case. For those who were killed in Texas due to Capital Punishment and were actually innocent...who are they? I actually support Capital Punishment only with hard evidence that the person is guilty (DNA Evidence/video footage/etc)

| The death penalty does not teach revenge for violence. It teaches intolerance for murder. And tolerating murder would baea grave mistake. David E. Young NewsDebate.net | |||||||||||||||||||||
