The founding fathers also found slavery to be consitution. Seperate but equal was also once considered constitutional. Also, the burning of "witches" (which were really just average woman in many cases) was also considered constitutional. I would imagine there is a myriad of past actions once supported by the constitution but are no longer considered such. So I am currently not sure if what was once constitutional is a good gauge for what actually is constitutional now.

I have to get going for now, but will make sure to respond to the rest of your comment later on today or tomorrow morning.

Yes some things which were constitutional back in the day are no longer respected today...but I think it's best to keep all the different topics seperated.

When you brought up slavery, burning of witches, etc. which are all things that were done in the past, and now abolished; I don't think any comparison should be made to try and abolish the death penalty by making it seem like it's another crazy thing done back in the day.

If I committed a crime (any) that would put me in prison, just kill me now.

I'll look into it, but I really don't think films should be seen as factual, but rather brainwashing when you are in a slight trance. Think about it, your concentrating mostly on the movie and the plot that it sometimes sinks into peoples heads and is seen as very true and factual. I'm always looking for the spin in films when compared to reality.

It isn't that crazy of a comparison. I have no doubt that they will look back at capital punishment in the future as an avoidable mistake of the past.

It really is a crazy comparison. Since done of this is done in the U.S. anymore it's pretty illogical to compare them together.

I doubt people will see it as an avoidable mistake, people will always seek vengeance, time will change nothing.

in my mind the death penalty is not moraly right, but it is not as wrong as killing a completely innocent kid, like some murderers have done. but then again people who kill kids would make nice jailhouse "freshmeat" if you know what i mean.

they should also bring in some exotic ways to execute like for example letting the condemmed hang for long hours by a certain painfull apendage until he dies from pain or it rips off and he dies from blood loss, blah ha ha. that would be acceptable dont you agrre.
