Once again Hevusa.. WHEN you reward idle people for doing nothing w/ your "go on the dole to recieve 80% of your previous salary" no one will contribute to society, it will collapse, and all will be poor. (Which is obviously where Sweden is headed...We keep pointing that out...) Once again... I grew up on minimum wage for awhile, but we WORKED ourselves out instead of depending on free handouts from the state. So... explain this to me... How do I hate the poor? .. Just because I don't buy into lies from bureaucrats who would shove money into our faces just so they could have greater power and control in our lives???

If you really CARED about the poor you would:
www.lp.org

Establish a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for contributions to private charity
"If the federal government's attempt at charity has been a dismal failure, private efforts have been much more successful. America is the most generous nation on earth. We already contribute more than $125 billion annually to charity. However, as we phase out inefficient government welfare, private charities must be able to step up and fill the void.

To help facilitate this transfer of responsibility from government welfare to private charity, the federal government should offer a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for contributions to private charities that provide social-welfare services. That is to say, if an individual gives a dollar to charity, he should be able to reduce his tax liability by a dollar. "

www.lp.org -

This way charity could be more discretionary, and the truly needy would recieve funds.

It is sad if you really believe that. I think you need to travel a bit overseas... especially to Sweden. Have you ever been out of the country?
I am conservative who has lived overseas in Rome, for 8 years going on 9 now. I am backing what FAndy or whoever it was said. Having have lived here for so long now, I have seen what Italy does to its poor, winning your state lottery's jackpot in the US, is just as likely as finding a shelter for homeless people. When I go downtown to Rome's 5th Avenue, Via del Corso, I see destitutes on just about every other 2 blocks, it is a very big issue here in Rome and all over the rest of Italy as well as Europe.

I agree. I was in Italy in the summer of 2003. Beautiful country, awesome food....I have to go back again. I was in Rome, Florence, Cassino, and Capri. It was eye opening to see dozens of desitutes hanging out by the....forget the name of the dome now, very famous building...I'm just blanking out right now (i got my wisdom teeth out yesterday, no excuse I guess) anyway, it was a tough sight to see. Their conditions were bad.
But it don't take much to get me by
So just booze me up and get me high

Yes. Peterson is stupid and Simpson is smart.
Survival of the fittest, man.

In America it is survival of the richest.... and on so many levels.

Thanks conservatives
That's a load of crap, how is that the fault of the conservatives?? You crack me up man, everytime something goes wrong it had to be something that the conservatives did.
Not a load of crap. The conservative ideals widen the gap between rich and poor.

Our system mandates that some people have to be poor so a few can be rich. It is a lie to think that there is some ladder of opportunity that you just have to climb to be successful. I have known many good hard working people who will never rise above lower middle class. They spend their lives making their bosses rich, while they the workers barely make ends meet. The "American dream" is a nightmare.
When the president talks to God
Do they drink near beer and go play golf
While they pick which countries to invade
Which Muslim souls still can be saved?
I guess god just calls a spade a spade
When the president talks to God

The fact that this country has an atmosphere of 'survival of the richest' is clearly the fault of the conservatives. Conservatives back big business and piss on the individual or the little guy at every turn. All they care about is the corporate sponsors who get them into office and on T.V.

I think anyone who thinks the welfare system is a good idea needs a better education. The welfare system is designed for one purpose and one purpose only, to keep poor people (especially the brown ones) in their place. I grew up in a ghetto, dirt poor. We lived in a car for a while, but my mom refused welfare and worked her way up, because she knew that welfare is a self-perpetuating system that breeds laziness. And she wanted to raise me with a better work ethic than that. People should have to work for everything they have. Handouts are demeaning and destructive.

Surprising how unemployment rates go down with a conservative in office. Guess those are rich people getting jobs?!

I said nothing about unemployment. There are lots of jobs when a conservative is in office because conservatives declare war on everything they see, and war generates jobs. Not very good paying jobs, but jobs.

The fact is that blue collar workers in this country are kept at the bottom of the food chain, and kept breeding, so that the fat cats a the top can get fatter and fatter....
