There are a lot of Biblical verses that make me wonder how Christians can claim that their god is a perfect, loving god. Here are just a couple of them:

Deuteronomy 2:34: ‘We took all his cities at that time, and we utterly destroyed the men, women, and little ones of every city; we left none remaining.’

Leviticus 31:17: The Hebrews were instructed to kill every man, woman, and child, except for the virgin girls. Those they were allowed to keep to rape whenever they pleased. In the Bible god used the phrase, ‘you may keep them as wives’ but they were taken against their will after their parents were slaughtered. If that’s what god intended marriage to be I want no part of it.

Additionally, these verses also illustrate great hypocrisy on the part of god and his children.

What happened to the Commandment “Thou shall not kill.” Does that only apply to those that share your religious faith?

In looking at god’s instructions to the Hebrews in Biblical times, it seems that not a single Commandment was intended to apply to anyone other than the Hebrews. They were instructed to steal from the Egyptians when fleeing Egypt after the Passover. They were instructed to slaughter and completely destroy all evidence of the neighboring nations and their religions. Is god so insecure that he has to kill everyone who doesn’t believe in him? I just don’t get it. How can anyone claim that this is the only true god?

This is not in contradiction to what I said... the government did not desire to be affiliated with a denomination of the Christian faith nor show bias towards Jewish that held the same Judeo Christian values. Take a look at this History of Virginia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Again, every citizen was either a Christian or a Jew in that era of religion in America. The very basis of the Bill of Rights came from religious philosophers. The Governor of NC a decade earlier than the constitution started the ball rolling for France's Rights of Man and the philosophy that ended up in our constitution. You must remember that the original US constitution was not ratified, it was only ratified after the Bill of Rights was added. You can look at the Federalist Papers all you want but it was the Anti Federalist that created the Bill of Rights, a work of religious philosophers.

America should reestablish itself as a totally "Judeo-Christian Nation" and kick out all others. That way we will be bonded by the original thinking of the founding fathers and won't have all this sniveling over what is offensive to what religion. The reason our culture is eroding is because we don't have a clear defiintion of what that culture is. We can't continue accepting people of weird religions and cave in to their demands that their religions be respected. A melting pot does not equal a tossed salad. Next thing you know American small towns will have minarets with ragheads screaming from them 5 times a day. Also, you'll have to make provisions for slaughtering goats and chickens for the cupcakes that are in to that shit.
