You're right.

Pity he didn't have the personal strength and moral fortitude to prevent his own downfall.

I wonder if he's willing to refund all the money donated for 'Gods work' that he spent on drugs and male hookers, to the foolish people who donated it.

OR.....does the saying "a fool and his money are soon parted" apply here?

I'm afraid that's true with so many of these crooked American televangelist frauds.

I think it's scandalous the way they claim that people can "buy a blessing" when all that money goes into their pockets.

If you believe in God you have to believe He will listen to your prayers or mine equally, and Benny Hinn or Robert Tilton don't have some kind of privileged access to God's private cellphone!

Mother Teresa's letters have just been released showing that for the last FIFTY years of her life, her 'closeness to God' act, was just that. An act. She talks in the letters about how she feels NO closeness go God and even doubts his existence, yet there are those who will ignore her written words and prefer to swallow the performance!

Karl Marx was right.
Well i'm not so sure about that. I read up on Mother Teresa's faith crisis and to me it makes her MORE spiritual, not less.

To be tormented by doubt, to feel the absence of divinity, to continue seeking, to continue working... that to me sounds like the MOST SOLID type of faith.

I'm glad these letters hav ebeen published.. It makes her faith more human than divine.

Just out of curiosity, why is there this NEED to feel cynical about Mother Theresa? Regardless of her crisis of faith, the woman dedicated her life to work very few others were willing to do.

I can understand people having issues with Religion, issues with the Catholic Church, but issues with Mother Theresa?

As a person grows up, they begin to realize that their heroes are flawed. They begin to become jaded and care less and less about the altruistic things that were once important. One of the few heroes that remained untarnished was Mother Theresa. Now, people who are overly jaded are looking for a reason to discount this woman as a hero.

Regardless of her faith crisis, this woman had a greater impact on the world than most of us ever dream to. The woman should be afforded some respect based upon her acts alone as NO ONE is perfect.

Any comparisons between Mother Theresa and Ted Haggard are ill-founded.

Untarnished? For fifty years this woman was lying to the world about her close, loving relationship with God and Jesus. She told poor women who had no access to medical care or even clean drinking water that God did not want them to use birth control and never ONCE mentioned that she herself doubted His existence. I have to wonder how many women who died in childbirth because they listened to her act would have lived if they had known her true feelings!

True. To my knowledge, Ted Haggard isn't responsible for anyones death.

It wasn't homosexuality that took a toll on anything it was that he lied..seems he didn't read or understand Exodus 20:2-16 or Deut 5:6-20..no wonder he needs more study

and like everyone else he could get a freakin job that doesn't involve ripping huge amounts of money from other people so as to further his own inability to understand the Bible
