"The president is saying, 'Let's take care of the neediest children first, let's not put scarce federal dollars toward a program that was meant for the poorest children and let it creep up to middle-income families with incomes up to $83,000 a year,' "

Eighty three grand a year is not a huge income especially in major urban areas.

Meanwhile Bush is asking for another $190 Billion for Iraq.

He's such a cruel fella.

I met a gal the other day telling how proud she was of her involement in getting the tabacco tax here in Iowa to help pay for her childrens medical care. I do have to say it did irritate me. She drives a new suburban, lives on the upper end housing area and I have to pay a dollar extra for every pack of smokes to support her childrens doctor subsidy.

I feel a bit picked on here. We live in one of the shadiest areas of town so we can be assured that the payments won't choke us financially and we drive a beat up truck so we won't have car payments we cannot afford and I must subsidize her kids medical so she can live in a big house in the burbs and drive a new suburban?

As far as Iraq goes they are there. You cannot start something and then walk out on the mess. Democrats and Republicans alike made that choice. Now they need to finish what was started.

I'd do well on eighty a year.

The ancient Greeks used to say, "You shall know a man by the friends that he keeps." Given the nature of his friends and advisors, what are we to conclude about George W. Bush:
Stop the madness before us it stops!
Σταματήστε την τρέλα προτού να μας σταματήσεϊ Greek
