I expected better from you Kat. Words have meanings, she told me to read the decision, I did. I told her to do the same, she did not or if she did she could not understand what she was reading. She continues to claim that the Court stated one thing, when in truth, the Court stated something else all together. She cuts a portion of the Courts statement to prove her point, however, when you look at what the Court actually said, it gives an entirely new meaning.
She claimed that the Court said that this law applied to a Jewish synagogue, I said no it didn't. If you read carefully what the Court said you will understand that the Justice was asking that if the same congress that passed the bill in question was to debate another bill that addressed only religious teachers would it receive a single vote or a minute of approving thought? The justice said no. That is why this bill does not apply to the case in question.
This case in question only deals with a single individual, of a single faith. One cannot read into the courts decision anything more. The Court ruled that because this country has a religious history, one based deeply upon Christianity, and that we are a Christian nation, the judgement of the lower court is reversed.
But somehow, because someone else cannot understand what they read I am the bad guy. Cry VICTIM!!! How pathetic.

| Sgt, I could really care less if you're right or wrong. My post was in reference not to the substance of the debate but your debating itself. Namely, your resorting to 'yelling' (or, very large obnoxious text that doesn't do anything but show your anger and intolerance). Quote:

| You could be dead wrong and be a good guy. But it is your arrogance and anger that would lead us to believe you are a "bad guy".
I don't believe you are a bad guy, but I think you get carried away and perhaps if you practiced your religion, as you put it in the other thread, if you practiced that 'humility'; maybe the debate would go much more smoothly.

The definition of the word does not matter, I am right, despite not being able to comprehend what I read. I wrote in bold big letters in the hope that you would be able to read and comprehend, however, obviously it is plain to see that you cannot. So continue thinking you are right, and look for support from others to pat you on your back for your total lack of understanding. Nevertheless, the words are written and they each have meaning.

LOL
Good response!
When they're losing a debate the last resort of these pinko libs is to put their protagonists on ignore!!

| Why interpret large letters as "yelling"?
We are all working with the written word, without the benefit of voice modulation or body language. Nobody knows who is yelling or whispering!
Large text is just another technique used to create emphasis, no different from emboldening, underlining or colours.
To be offended by large letters smacks of on over-eagerness to appear a victim.

It is generally accepted Internet etiquette. I am not surprised that you are unaware of that fact.

Large text is just another technique used to create emphasis, no different from emboldening, underlining or colours. | And what do you do when you want to emphasize something radically in the spoken language? You yell.
It's just interpreted as 'yelling' or the equivalence of yelling when very large bold text is used because it primarily does the same thing; that is, it emphasizes radically, and it creates a lot of unnecessary 'pollution' (yelling makes noise, and large over-sized capitalized letters takes up space). | I'm not offended. I'm used to it by now. I was just pointing out that it was a cheap and uncivil tactic.

I'm not surprised that you would use such a feeble excuse to feign victimhood and avoid further debate!

I simply choose not to converse with people who think shouting is an acceptable debate tactic. Discourse with such a person is a waste of time.

Stand up for yourself and make your point.
