I don't...I'll readily admit it. But it pays like a sumbitch.

Many of the principles of the Founding Fathers, whether or not they practiced Christianity, based the constitution on are considered Christian values. Yet, the constitution deliberatly seperated church and state, to keep this from becoming a nation under one religion and to keep, as in many European countries, the church from having power over the government and vice versa. They believed that people had the right to practice their own religions. Though it is a predominantly Christian nation, it is not a completely Christian nation. That would be a generalization that cuts out many contributing members of society. Without them, our country would not be as great as it is today. When he says that he would only feel comfortable with a Christian President, he says that not realizing many of the values he considers Christian, are shared by other predominant faiths and that many Christians do not agree with the values he many consider Christian. If he would not feel comfortable with a Christian president, then look at Hitler who considered himself a Christian. Would he feel comfortable with Hitler as president? I doubt it.

I can't agree with your Hitler reference. I think Hitler had many issues that made his being a "Christian" a lower rung on the ladder of his personality. A Christian Psychopath is defined more by the psychopathology than the Christainity that he/she may believe in. IMHO.
The ten commandments say "Thou shalt not kill". When a minister kills someone, I have a big problem considering them an example of a "Christian" that I would like to use in an argument.
I have a problem defining a religion by those who fail to follow it.

I wasn't saying Hitler was a model Christian or even should be considered Christian at all but that he considered himself a Christian meaning that McCain would feel more comfortable with him as President than say Ghandi.

I don't think he meant "that" Christain.

I would rather my breakfast pastry be Pop-Tart brand, but I only like non-frosted Blueberry flavor. There are MANY flavors of Christian just as there are Pop-Tarts. THAT'S what I mean.

So you're saying he wouldn't be comfortable with a conservative Christian?
