The Mitchell & Steroids Report
Names Surface Before Report Released - AOL Sports

With the names of the players coming out, this could get interesting as the day wears on.

According to this report using steroids in MLB is almost the rule and not much of an exception.

So the charge against Barry Bonds is not that he used steroids, but that he lied to a Congressional committee.

You know the whole problem I have with this is the simple fact that it was the players union that was against drug testing in the first place. Following the 1994 strike, MLB needed something to get the fans back, and all of a sudden there was the Homerun chase, so of course everybody turned a blind eye.

MLB needs to stand up and say you know what it is our fault, we encouraged the use and now we are trying to do today what we should have done way back when. MLB and the players union failed to act and now they are facing the music.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

Somehow the MLBPA had to give in to testing eventually. But it might be a case of too little, too late. Look what it cost baseball. The players reputation? What can the MLBPA do now? They now will have to take the players by the hand and say, "look, get tested now." Hello, Don Fehr.

Anybody remember last year or 2005 when a Padres fan threw a syringe onto the field, in reference to Barry Bonds? I was there. From then on, no fans can watch the game behind the left field fence, adjacent to the Padres' store.

With Barry Bonds no longer a Giant, that may change.
