What will this do to Pakistan? It makes me wonder if that country is going to face civil war.

However, obviously political stability (however much is left of it in Pakistan) is at stake. Sad developments, indeed; it will be interesting to see what follows.

We have a distinct plan in place and several levels of government to enforce the law. Pakistan is barely stable in the good times.
This is far from the same.
With suspected terrorists hiding out somewhere in that country, the situation is infinitely more dangerous than what happened here in the 60's.

Did the Cubans pay Oswald to kill JFK after JFK exposed the Cuban Missile Crisis to the world?

Level up: 36%, 7 Points needed | | I can't imagine what'll happen in the next few weeks, hopefully it won't come to a total chaotic destabilization of Pakistan or a civil war but who knows...

Level up: 34%, 129 Points needed | | Bush has already stated his desire to increase violence in the area to combat terrorism and those who want to undermine Pakistan's democracy. I don't know how nukes would be involved but the real problem is how Bush is going to use this assasination to increase military activity in Afghanistan considering he and his Fox Noise minions have already blamed this on Al Quaida or extremist

With suspected terrorists hiding out somewhere in that country, the situation is infinitely more dangerous than what happened here in the 60's. | Are you familiar with the process which Pakistan has in place to control its nuclear capability? I doubt it.
Do you think a bunch of Patan tribesmen could walk into a nuclear facility in Pakistan and take control??
Are you aware that there are Al Qaeda operatives living in the US - maybe in your street??
I suspect you may be a victim of American news-phobia and fear almost anything!

And this same country had nuclear capability. Since I assume "the government" controls the access to this potential, any collapse of "the government" seems like it would compromise the security of the nuclear weapons. I'm not yet phobic, concerned is a much more fitting word.
