Another example of how we fight the war on terror. The Saudis and Pakistanis have a much greater involvement in funding terrorism and extremism directed toward America, then Iraqi or Iranian cultures do. And they also have a less progressive attitude toward women. So of course they are our allies, makes so much sense.

I don't believe we'll be getting (or should be so foolish as to expect) any real help from King Abdullah and the House of Saud. They have made it clear (at least to me) that they love to have their children educated here in America,
love to enjoy the entertainment and other "sinful" ways of America; but As soon as members of the royal family are back in the Middle East, they will kowtow to the religios fanatics and radicals. Only when their "gravy train" of oil was threatened by Saddam did they decide to become somewhat friendly with America-only when it was in their best interests to do so.
I feel America should have long since adopted a policy of "We'll help you, but you must help with the overall cost of our troops being there; and give us preferred prices on oil as long as they are there". I believe that while Arab/Israeli fighting has been going on for almost all recorded time in the Middle East; Arab will attack Arab on a second's notice to control the politics and wealth of the region. History is replete with examples of such. And over the last twenty-something years, these afore-mentioned belligerents of America will then come crying to America for help.
What I believe to be the answer is for America to start setting the rules of the game- instead of being thought the fool for playing the game wrong.
We always seem to come out the worst because we don't. We lose at the bargaining table; never the battlefield. And again; I think this due to a fundamental lack of ability in our politicians to identify the entrance and exit strategies of dealing with foriegn countries.
