I agree lots of people misuse credit. But plenty of people fall on hard times, get laid off, incur huge medical bills, etc and are forced to take on credit.
Others are seduced by the lenders who later try to shaft them.

As oggi observes "this isn't a socialist or communist country".
Companies need to be competitive on a global stage, and they need to make profits for their shareholders, including millions of retired Americans who rely on dividends from their mutual funds.
Using expensive US labor would drive up the cost of living, you're already complaining about the $4 gallon - how about the $50 T shirt and the $3,000 computer!

And how I justify swiping the Visa and running the demo Bimmer up to 120 mph. But still. When my wife and I were dating 12 years ago, gas was $.69 a gallon and our biggest bill was for long distance. Now long distance is free and gas is insane.

Can you imagine what the demand for oil would be if it was only $4 a gallon in Europe too??
