Defending the Truth

He was not as popular as mast would think, not on the right anyway. Maybe they should ask her what she thinks about how her father was led to the gallows by the likes of Ann Coulter and the lawyers in the Paula Jones case. Or the legal implications of being called a perjurer, when the testimony was immaterial to the case. Or about how it is possible that so many Americans are ignorant of the law and the way our government works. Or maybe someone should ask her why her mother would possibly want to subject herself to this kind of crap over and over again, if she wasn't doing it out of a true desire to improve her country. Questions that really matter, not how her father's scandal hurt her mother's credibility.

I know her quite well, though we never met. She is a wonderful lady.

I'm sure those question have been asked too. But her refusal to answer this one which may be the most important component of her mother's downfall is the most newsworthy one. IMHO her canned answer which doesn't really address the question as it is being asked makes her look silly to anyone that actually pays attention to the context.

We're still a bit off track here , people. Regardless of what we think about Bad Billy's bedhopping; the question was do we think Chelsea's refusal to confront this question openly hurt Hillary's chances of nomination?My answer would be no. I don't think it tips the scales one way or another for Hillary. As far as Chelsea is concerned; when she was a young child; yes, the media gave her a "free pass" on question such as this. But now that she is grown up and is actively campaigning for her mother; that pass has expired. She's old enough to confront her demons. It just takes away from Chesea's credibility as a speaker-not Hillary's- that Chelsea still wants that free pass.

While I am no clinton supporter, I don't see why the daughter has to be prodded as to the personal sexual habits of her parents. It's sickening and bizarre that someone even WOULD ask a child about their parents' private sexual matters.

I agree Nutty. Hillary's credibility is already toast. Chelsea is doing herself the disservice by dodging this question. Especially with the dodge that she's using.

I think Obama AND Hillary would be screwed if the Republican actually had any credibility of their own. Someone should as McCain if Bush's presidency has screwed him out of an easy win against the woman and Black guy running for the Democrats.

They aren't asking about sex. They are asking about credibility.

Actually, there are people who ask Chelsea about Monica and I don't think that is EVER appropriate. There are a lot better, more pertinent questions about her mother's stance or platforms...

Well, that's a silly question. Only an idiot would think that a woman's credibility could be harmed by something her husband did. Her husband's credibility is shot; not her own, whichever choice she makes later - stay or go...
