I listened to the speech and the following Q&A, and I for one, agree 100% with Rev. Wright. All of this is an attack on the Black church, not just the Rev. Until people who aren't familiar with Liberation Theology, get educated, there will be those who find his sermons to be "hate speech." When one does understand the history of the black church and liberation theoogy, then they can see the truth in Rev. Wright's words.

Yet another separate identity in America, the great "Melting Pot". Maybe somebody needs to turn up the heat or something. It seems we haven't quite mixed yet. Some ingredients are a bit stubborn.

This country still has a very long way to come in dealing with the horrible situation it caused by sanctioning slavery. And then treating African Americans as if they were sub human for hundreds of years, and even into present times. Those who don't know about these things need to educate themselves and help to bring an end to the racial rifts that exist here, or they will never get better.

Melting pot my ass. That hasn't been true since the great migration of the early 20th century. What we have now is more of a "mixed salad." The worst part is everybody feels the need to "demand their rights." When I hear somebody say "only in America" in a heavily accented voice, I feel like slapping them.
