One thing I have to give Clinton is that she can direct the tone of the media and in the same breath declare victim of media bias. Clearly, this "Wright issue" and many other issues for that matter wouldn't have become issues in the first place had Clinton's campaign not kicked and screamed about it. The media is so intent upon the horse race that they're more dedicated toward the political effects rather than whether Wright's comments were actually all that controversial when taken in context. In doing so the tone of the media has made Wright's comments controversial.

When you actually hear the man talk or listen to the contexts of his comments then they may be audacious, but then again speaking truth to power always is audacious in the face of an implacable status-quo of exploitation, oppression, and militarism. If I'm not mistaken, that's what liberation theology attempts to do.

What's worse is that Obama kneels to the reactionary tone that was ultimately dictated by Clinton. He's quick to deny the claims of his pastor for the sake of 'political correctness'; in short, he gives in to status-quo for political reasons. He'll deny truth for the sake of avoiding being 'controversial and divisive' (I rarely can imagine a time when prophetic truth wasn't controversial and divisive). Such an image is exactly what he wasn't supposed to represent.

I'm very sure he clinched the nomination, but these events aren't looking good for him if he's going to continue to be just another politician always in denial.

When did that happen?

It's mostly her nemesis, the right-wing news media, who won't let this ridiculous story die.

I think you are beginning to see how Obama might react if he were President, and it isn't very comfortable.
