Hey all,
I just wanted to let you all know that the WGBH Lab is holding a call for pitches for short videos (about 3 minutes in length) about the Election. If your pitch is selected, WGBH will give you funds to create it, feature it on our website, and may broadcast it nationally. We're trying to get a genuinely broad sampling of voices from across the nation, so please, if you have an idea for a compelling short video, by all means submit it.
If you're interested, you can find more information here: Open Call: Election 2008 | WGBH Lab
Thank you for your time.

Feb 29, 2008 - 3:44 PM - by RidinHighSpeeds | I would like to introduce a new web site I created for my cousin: Eric Giardina Tonight Eric is going to be on WBZ Channel 4 talking about his tour in Iraq, his family, and the Army. He is also going to sing live!! Feel free to check out his site and let me know what you think!
Tewksbury - Just short of two years ago, Eric Giardina’s life came to a crossroads.
Only a year out of high school and short on cash, Giardina was attending classes at Middlesex Community College and working part time at a pizza shop, when his car suddenly broke down. With no money to fix it, and his car being the only way of getting to class, Giardina knew he needed a fast change.
Little did he know this change was about to... [Read More] |

Can anyone give a reasonable argument as to why marijuana should be illegal?
It seems the government needs to manufacture studies and use scare tacticts about how legalizing marijuana would be a disastrous social experiment. Then lie about the health benifits in an attempt to keep marijuana out of the hands of glaucoma patients. (A cruelty that should not be tolerated) I was just wondering if their is a valid reason for all the chaos.

I remember hearing some of the better off people talking about some of the less fortunate members of society how they were "undeserving" and "sorry." I asked them what they thought about Exxon Mobile getting 12 billion dollars in tax payer subsidies, which was nothing more than welfare. They were unaware of this. I also told them that in addition to the 12 billion of dollars of tax payer subsidies (which they do not pay back) they get another 7 billion over a period of 5-10 years as well. It is basically a huge return on investment for these private companies to use their money to get politicans elected and those politicans turn around and subsidized their companies which the subsidy in and of itself is far more than what the company gave to that politican's political campaign. It's quite funny, actually, to hear people scoff at welfare for the poor and less fortunate when the rich and wealthy become every more wealthy through welfare themselves in the form of...
