Level up: 36%, 7 Points needed | | On Hardball today, Chris Matthews was talking to Radio host Kevin James, a supporter of Bush's decision to compare the Democrats' support of speaking to our enemies to the appeasement of Hitler by Neville Chamberlain and other European leaders, which was also IMO a thinly veiled shot at Obama for how vocal he is on diplomacy towards Iran, Syria, Venezuela, and North Korea.
When asked a simple history question on Chamberlain's appeasement, James flipped out for about five minutes and refused (or couldn't) answer the question. Obviously he (And Bush) didn't know the difference between simply reaching out and talking to our enemies and appeasing them.
Luckily this video popped up on Youtube lol.

Who is that moron??!?
I suppose idiots like him believe that Bush Senior appeased Saddam Hussein when he sent James Baker to meet with Tariq Aziz prior to the outbreak of the first Gulf War!

Some talk radio guy who apparently just could not stay awake during a 10th grade World History class. "Peace in our time." was a really significant moment in history, too bad James passed on that opportunity to learn what the fuck appeasement is!!!!!!!
It just might have helped him later on down the road of his life!

Ronald Reagan called the Soviet Union an "Evil Empire", yet didn't mind talking with Mikhail Gorbachev.
JFK met with Premier Nikita Khrushchev in 1961 and again in 1962 to negotiate with him during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Even Def. Secretary Robert Gates has suggested that US citizens should visit Iran in order to encourage a more open dialog between the aforementioned nations. He doesn't go as far as to encourage talks between the governments of Iran and the United States, but it's a start. US Defense Secretary urges more private US contacts with Iran - Yahoo! News
I wonder if these men could also be compared to good ol' Neville.

Level up: 32%, 122 Points needed | | First America debates whether or not imprisoning 'detainees' is a violation of the geneva convention.
Then America debates about secret prisons.
Then America debates about the right of their government to spy on them directly in the name of security
Then America debates whether or not to torture people.
Now America is debating whether or not it's okay to talk to people in an attempt to settle differences in a way that doesn't end in hundreds of thousands of civilians dead and billions in the pockets of war profiteers.
Aren't these truths self-evident? |
