"It allowed critics to say, 'Well, here is an administration that's just embarked upon a policy not looking at what the situation is,' when in fact it's just the opposite," Snow said.
But that is precisely what happened.
They claimed there were WMDs, when there were none. The people stating that there were no WMDs were ignored.
They claimed we would be greeted as liberators.
They claimed the war would pay for itself. Based on estimates, if we stay another three years the cumulative cost is between $400 billion and $2,000 billion.

They claimed we would be in and out in a few months. That lie has gone and past...
I've quoted an article showing that Rumsfield EXPLICITLY DEMANDED that no post-war Iraq scenarios be promulgated.

Snow is lying through his teeth. They DID embark on a policy without looking at what the situation was.

Bush earlier this month explained that "stay the course" was not an inflexible strategy, but rather, an adaptive one.
I realize there are a couple of die-hard republican ditto-heads who will claim to follow this and accept it as gospel, but for the rest, is Snow/Bush freakin' kidding me?

Over and over again. "Stay the Course". "We don't cut and run".
Over and over again, they criticized people who asked for more flexibility in planning as "aiding the enemy".

And NOW? NOW they say that they have been "flexible"?
"Flexible" as in bending over backwards now that it becomes painfully obvious that they lead America into a scenario which will cost us BILLIONS, if not TRILLIONS with no clear end in sight, and NOW they're looking for a way to avoid that???

"Stay the course is about a quarter right," he said. "Stay the course means keep doing what you're doing. My attitude is, don't do what you're doing if it's not working -- change."
Mr. Bush?

Precisely WHEN did you finally figure out that what "you're doing" was "not working"?
And do you realize you're "aiding the enemy" with this talk?
