What happened to "mission accomplished"? We aren't "fighting a war". We are OCCUPYING a foreign nation, with the help/support OF THAT nation. The "war" ended years ago, but the "fighting" continues. And quite frankly, maybe Bush should start to try to tout that in the press. "I haven't killed off as many Americans as others fighting a war"... | And perhaps the low number of americn fatalities has to do with advanced weapons technology that doesn't require that many soldiers getting their hands dirty. "ooh look a terrorist.. hold it.. we'll call in a smart bomb.. KABOOOM.. aawriiiiight.. we GOT 'EM. Another notch in my rifle" Besides idon't think it is fair to look at this war in terms of american fatalities only. COUNTLESS numbers of innocent iraqi civilians have died as a result of the american invasion.. Do they not matter when you think about the validity of the war? It seems that american lives are just more worth and more important than iraqi lives no? A human is a human, and each human life is as valuable as the next. Now since this war was started by the american invasion i think it only fair that Bush also be held responsible for the MINIMUM 60,000 deaths of innocent civilians as a direct result of american bombing. No offense guys, i mean i understand why you think of your own first. But it is also not fair to forget those who AINT american. Love for all, Hatred for none | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Each person who died in Iraq was connected to a family and to a community, just as we are here in the US. There are many who mourn each person. My heart goes out to them in their collective loss. Human beings have great practice dividing themselves into nations, sects, what have you. We do not practice coming together as human beings so much. To those Americans who say we are somehow more valuable than people from other countries: this reasoning flies in the face of the Declaration of Independence where it states "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." | |||||||||||||||||||||
