| Ford would have made a great president, if given time his big mistake was that he gave a pardon to Nixon and that sealed his fate. Look what we got next Carter, what a joke . Carter is still causing trouble. I was sad to read about Ford, he was really a very intelligent man, but the drive-by media wanted blood. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Yep. Basically, Ford was little more than "the guy we hate because he pardoned Nixon." Even so, he still did the right thing. It cost him the election, but it allowed the country to move on and get over the whole Nixon problem. He did the RIGHT thing, at personal cost. That's something that DEMOCRATS do NOT do. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Gerald Ford was a statesman. That title has been lost due to the constant partisan bickering lately. His pardon of Nixon did seal his fate, but it helped the nation heal and put the nightmare behind us. Not a great president, but the right man at the right time. A patriot and a statesman. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| A moment of silence in respect for the dead might be in order??? Everything doesn't have to dwindle down to party division, does it? Here are some quotes to ponder, even as we silently consider a life that touched this world in our own time. OD | |||||||||||||||||||||
