I agree. Which is why I have that link to Instant Runoff Voting in my signature. Instead of voting AGAINST the candidate you don't want you can vote for the issues that matter.

Sticking with the reps and dems certainly isn't either.

An educated, intelligent, responsible voting populace is the answer.

Unfortunately, too most people are just too busy playing Nintendo, getting drunk, and trying to get laid to pay enough attention and demand better of our elected officials.

With the two party system they don't feel like they have a choice or that their vote even matters!

I think it's a well-established reality of the apathy of American politics.

However, I don't think the most dangerous thing about this issue is that there are lot of people so apathetic that they don't vote at all.

I think the most dangerous aspect of this issue is that there is an increasing amount of people casting wholly uneducated votes for whatever reason. Obviously, if someone can't locate Iraq on a map, I think I'll feel much better with them staying at home than out voting.
