Dick Cheney just pulled off the biggest scam
Haliburton just announced they will move their corporate office and their money to the UAE. Now you see what the Iraq War was really about. Haliburton has been stealing U.S. tax dollars for 4 years now. Now that it is evident we will be leaving Iraq Haliburton is taking all this U.S. tax money to the UAE. Dick Cheney is one smart criminal. I don't think anybody saw this coming. Well we are reaping what we sowed. All this Haliburton money made on the backs of dead U.S. soldiers.

Apparently you're not aware that Cheney is no longer head of Halliburton?

Besides, this is just suicide on the part of Halliburton. All that needs to be said is that if they move their headquarters, there will never again be another US Government contract. They'll fold.

Judging from the fact that this administration not only has personal ties with the company, but they were willing to sell our ports to an actual Dubai company, and not just an American company that has it's headquarters in Dubai, I highly doubt this is a bad move in terms of government contracts.

The Bush administration has had a reputation for completely destroying things by privatizing everything, including war. The Iraq War has showed an unprecedented level of privatization, and it also has showed an unprecedented level of failure. The second largest armed force in Iraq isn't the British military but private contractors. They've even outsourced torturing, and it's been a primary source of inhumane torture.

This Republican administration are businessmen, and they are treating our serving men and women's lives like expendable resources for the bottom line. They don't care. Just a few days I ago I listened to a general on television talk about how the Republican party (especially lately) has been the worst thing that ever happened to the military.

It stems from the Reagan ideology that the government is the root of all of our problems. Now I agree that government isn't perfect, but it certainly does a much better job in some (I would say most) areas than corporations. We're paying corporations like Halliburton five times as much for doing a job that is ten times worse. And this administration either can't get through their head the problem of war profiteering, or they're in on it. So Cheney is definitely complacent.

The ancient Greeks used to say, "You shall know a man by the friends that he keeps." Given the nature of their friends and advisers, what are we to conclude about the Republican party:

I'd like for you to provide some proof to back up these fanciful claims.

Tyreay was - on another thread - complaining because Cracker Barrel wasn't given a shot at the food contracts. Dumb... There's no way they could have pulled it off.

Also, I'd like for you to provide some factual support for the idea that Halliburton is doing work that "any old joe" could do.

But I digress...

On this proposed move out of the United States, there are several things at play...
1. American companies are being taxed into oblivion. THAT is why they're outsourcing.

2. Halliburton is slitting its own throat. All the US Government needs to say is, "If you move overseas, you will NEVER get another government contract for ANYTHING, no matter how small. That'll be the end of the story. If Halliburton leaves, there will be another company that will grow to take their place. If they stay, there are more reigns on them.

This is a win-win situation for the US Government.

You know, Dick Cheney was Halliburton's head, key word WAS. A simple fact that the looney liberals can never fail to see. But if you want to continue to hold what Cheney was, then be consistent. Sen Byrd was a kleagle for the KKK. Where is your outrage. His job was to recruit fellow racists to join the organization. COME NOW LIBERALS where is all the outrage, oh that is right, Sen. Byrd is the heart of soul of the Democrats in the Senate. So of course we all know what that is code for, all liberals are racist.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

Byrd gave up his old racist ideaologies. Cheney is lock stock and barrel in step with the neo-con agenda of world domination through force.

Frankly I am surprised you guys are still riding this dead horse. Don't you realize it is not about party anymore, it is about making money. The Dems and the Repubs. Cheney and Bush just happen to be in charge of it all right now.
-----------------------
An analysis released by a Democratic senator found that Vice President Dick Cheney's Halliburton stock options have risen 3,281 percent in the last year.
Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) asserts that Cheney's options -- worth $241,498 a year ago -- are now valued at more than $8 million.

Cheney continues to hold 433,333 Halliburton stock options. The company has been criticized by auditors for its handling of a no-bid contact in Iraq. Auditors found the firm marked up meal prices for troops and inflated gas prices in a deal with a Kuwaiti supplier. The company built the American prison at Guantanamo Bay.

“Since I left Halliburton to become George Bush's vice president, I've severed all my ties with the company, gotten rid of all my financial interest," the Vice President said in 2003. "I have no financial interest in Halliburton of any kind and haven't had, now, for over three years.”

Cheney continues to received a deferred salary from the company. According to financial disclosure forms, he was paid $205,298 in 2001; $262,392 in 2002; $278,437 in 2003; and $294,852 in 2004.

I found all of this info on ten different sites.
