The president is irked, huh? Probably not the best choice of word but, what ever. Please see this link:

I just saw on the Local TV news, that it has been confirmed, Carl Rove had something to do with the firing of these Federal Attorneys. Funny how that works. Yet Bush is irked.

Let us see, 8 US District Attorneys are removed from their positions, in what many are calling a poltical purge. It would seem that these 8 US D.A. did not support the adminstrations policies, and now the Democrats in Congress want hearings. HMMMM, after being elected President, then President Clinton, removed all 93 US District Attorneys. No hearings, no out cries from the Democrats, or Republicans for that matter.

It seems to me that the Democrats now in the majority in Congress are just throwing their temper tantrums for the whole world to see. Go figure.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

I always despise it when people use arguments like this. Two wrongs don't make a right.

I think it's been on the news enough for people to realize that both Bush and Clinton purged the District Attorneys when they took office.
Republican and Democrat alike.

That isn't the complaint.

The complaint is over firing people AFTER that, for no greater problem than the attorney's politics aren't lining up well enough with the administrations. That the attorney in question may have enough independent morality and less of a "Go Bush" mentality that would enable him to question the legality of certain goings on...

And of course, if there is truly no problem with all this, WHY DID THEY LIE when the administration fired these guys claiming it was for "performance" reasons? Why not just admit these guys were being fired for politics if there was nothing wrong with it???

And on another level, I find it amusing that George Bush admits that mistakes were made, while some in his party refuse to...

This president has made a lot of mistakes. Even he should know that. It takes one to know one.

I felt the testimony of Valerie Plame yesterday was very powerful. It was enough to show what a bungling administration this is.
