I wonder how much his public life will come into this...

Does anyone here know if infidelity and similar things are considered in child custody?

Usually yes, stepping outside of a marriage usually is seen as a breach in the contractual nature of a marriage by most judges. If that were the sole issue (and it never is the sole issue) of a divorce and custody battle the judge would most likely side with the one who didn't commit adultery.

But the overwhelming majority of full custody disputes in the US are awarded to the mother unless the judge deems the mother is just so poorly unfit that she can't raise the child.
You live in a world where you have a limited amount of time to make a limited amount of choices. Choose wisely.

I doubted that there is any such thing as a 'sole issue' in a divorce or custody hearing. Thank you for verifying that.

I don't agree that the mother is automatically the best choice barring circumstances. It purely depends on what is in the best intrest of the child(ren)

Choosing a lawyer for child support
A lawyer, or legal practitioner, is a person certified to give legal advice who advises clients in legal matters. Some lawyers represent clients in courts of law and in other forms of dispute resolution. For better legal advice or lawyer visit
