Support for the war in Afghanistan also has seen a considerable decline as 88 percent of those polled in 2001 said they were behind the conflict. This month's poll indicates that support lingers around 53 percent.
Also, according to the poll, about 55 percent of Americans feel the war in Afghanistan is "going badly," according to the poll.
Quite frankly, the TALIBAN is where our efforts should be focused.
There hasn't been any real information in the news to explain what we are currently doing in Afghanistan. I would presume our efforts would be involved in keeping the Taliban out, but I really don't know for sure.

And on another level...
Considering the current social opinion climate, any presidential candidate who supports the war in George Bush fashion would be committing political suicide.
GW needs to realize that this mess has an expiration date whereby his policies will be taken off the shelf.

I think this would be a good question for Tadpole, as he was in Afghanistan those many months.
