Perhaps tyreay actually read the rebuttal sites, and realizes that it's all a bunch of bunk.

Scotty would like us to believe that all the filming was done inside the (Johnson) Space Center in Houston. If he believes that, then why didn't Chet Huntley and David Brinkley of NBC, Walter Cronkite of CBS, and whoever the announcers were for ABC and PBS, tell us that?

Apollo 11's live coverage from the Sea of Tranquility on the moon was of ghostly-like images, but that was to be expected. I remember Armstrong telling the viewers of how pretty it was on the moon as he pointed the little camera beyond the moon's horizon.

Apollo 12 had a color TV camera, and we only got to watch the show live for a very short period of time. One of the moonwalkers accidentally pointed the camera toward the sun while on the Ocean of Storms. So while the activity was taking place on the moon without a live picture, there was activity inside the space center with men dressed as astronauts demonstrating what was happening. Even there were small toys of the moonwalkers ascending the ladder of the lunar excursion module (LEM).

We all know what happened with Apollo 13, as they had to slingshot around the moon when their service module suffered a ruptured tank.

Apollo 14 had a cart with them, as they were based at Fra Mauro. The picture from the color TV camera was not clear, and both men had to leave the camera behind while they went to a crater. The camera was on all the time, with no activity around the LEM. When Alan Shepard and Edgar Mitchell came back, Shepard, like the clown he always was, shot three golf balls on TV, all one-handed. On the third shot, he said that the golf ball went "miles and miles and miles."

Apollo 15 through 17 used the lunar rovers. But because the ride on the moon was so rocky, they had to shut the camera off until they reached their destination. Apollo 15 was at the Hadley Rille site, and I could see that part of it was in the sun and the other in shadows. Dave Scott and Jim Irwin were the moonwalkers for that mission.

The live pictures from the tv camera on the moon got better and clearer as there was a relay system from antennas stationed at Mt. Laguna, California, which is located about 60 miles east of my home.


Apollo 16's moonwalkers featured a man I met a few years ago at a men's retreat. Charles Duke will forever be known when he said, "look at the size of that rock." With Charles Duke, Fred Haise was with him at Descartes.

When I met Charles, I bought his book and video. He gave me a personally signed picture of him on the moon, like the one on the link below. He also signed his book for me as well, titled "Moonwalker".

During the retreat, Charles was asked if he, like the other astronauts on the lunar missions, got extra pay for going to the moon. I was dumbfounded when they got flight pay. But they were showered by get special gifts like cars and TV's.

On the final morning of the retreat, I sat next to Charles, and we talked a lot about space and God. It truly was a marvelous experience talking with a man who walked on the moon thirty-one years earlier. We had two pictures of us taken together, of which I still have.

Also, Charles was on the mike at Mission Control during the Apollo 11 flight, when after Neil Armstrong announced just after that the Eagle (LEM) landed on the moon, Duke replied "Roger, Neil. You got a bunch of guys about to turn blue. We're breathing again. Thanks a lot."

Apollo 17 had a geologist, Harrison Schmitt, along with Eugene Cernan at Taurus-Littrow.

And last, but not least, Scotty's chum, Bill Kaysing, the anchor of the nutty TV program about the faked moon landings, was called a "kook" by Apollo 13's commander Jim Lovell.
