Really? According to Wikipedia - which I realise is not a perfect source as it's editable by pretty much anyone, but is generally along the right lines - says:

Shortly after their first expeditions to the region, the Spanish initiated a number of attempts to subjugate the Maya and establish a colonial presence in the Maya territories of the Yucatán Peninsula and the Guatemalan highlands. This campaign, sometimes termed "The Spanish Conquest of Yucatán," would prove to be a lengthy and dangerous exercise for the conquistadores from the outset, and it would take some 170 years before the Spanish established substantive control over all Maya lands.

It goes on to say:

The last Maya states, the Itza polity of Tayasal and the Ko'woj city of Zacpeten, were continuously occupied and remained independent of the Spanish until late in the 17th century. They were finally subdued by the Spanish in 1697.

It seems that some people post as if they had neither.
One pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small,
And the ones that mother gives you don't do anything at all.

I don't believe that it will be the end of the world. I think it is the end of an age, possibly. And that it may have to do with the evolution of consciousness.

Nevermind 2012, folks... one of the ads on top of this page leads you to a very official-looking book called "2008: God's Final Witness."

"Some of these prophecies concern the demise of the United States over the next two years, which will be followed by man's final world war. This last war will be the result of clashing religions and the governments they sway. Billions will die! This time will far exceed even the very worst times in all human history."

Check it out for yourself, and then restock on batteries, MRE's, and bottled water for your fallout shelter.

Prophesied End-Time Books by Ronald Weinland

Catchy domain name too, don'tcha think?
Booga booga!

Nothing like starting one's day with a good read, about the end of the world, as we know it...
