Actually the 2012 prophesy is based on the Mayan calendar though. So all this Bible and God stuff doesn't really apply here. But feel free to continue.

Many cultures have similar predictions to what the Mayan calendar states. Chinese, Biblical, ancient Roman, Ancient Greeks, etc. I was surpirsed when I saw how many people on this planet had similar prophecies for 2012.

THAT is what made me take notice. I like the supposed "mathematic" basis for this one instead of just some dude making a "prediction". And since many say that the Mayan calendars are more accurate than the lunar one we use, I really sat up an took notice.

Yes, the Mayans have more accurately done that then even we can do today. Except that their calendar doesn't end, it says that that cycle will end, and that they weren't able to see beyond it, for whatever reason. I wouldn't be surprised to see us being visited by some extraplanetary beings at that time, when the black hole at the center of the galaxy is in line with our sun. Who knows. As Hamlet said, "There are more things in Heaven and earth, Horatio, then can be dreamt of in your philosophy".

I understand that their calendar doesn't officially end, but since we know that there have been many mass extinctions on this planet, and we can only trace human history back so many years, it seems that there are other catalysms that set the planet back every now and then. Maybe it won't be "the end of the world" but it might be some big ass something that may revert us back to using rocks and sticks again. There has been one bottleneck that scientists said seemed to knock out a large portion of the human population, maybe in 2012, we are due for something else.

Now, wasn't Jesus speaking directly to his disciples? He was talking about the present generation in their time. The things he mentioned that were to happen didn't happen, and no amount of the twisting of the words will make them say what was not said.

He's not coming...

Man, I write all that, and this is your responce???

Sure it does Fx. I have used the bible as a tool to refute the predictions of the mayan calender.
