you are always presenting --- help me Instant Runoff Voting, you're my only hope --- There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

That, and if people try to convert to Judaism, we're supposed to try to talk them out of it at least three times. I am not making that up. It's based on the Book of Ruth. And then Buddhism... Well, that is a religion, and they don't have all of that crap either. Neither do a lot of denominations of Christianity and Islam. You're making some pretty sweeping, unfair assumptions.

| Dylan, every religion has some group that thinks it's beliefs are the only way to go, Judism included. I mean come on, the fight over land that is suppose to be holy has gone one for how long? I think that our 'war' in Iraq is an extention of this holy war! The American Jewish Task Force and Islam The Jewish Task Force (JTF) strongly criticizes Islam, often referring to the Koran, the book which Muslims consider to be holy, as the "Muslim Nazi Koran" or "monstrous". JTF says that the Koran requires its followers to murder all "non-Muslim infidels". JTF supports the fight on "Muslim terror" and in keeping with this, they supported Slobodan Milosevic's policies and the "heroic Serb Christians'" struggles in Bosnia and Kosovo. On JTF's television programs, Chaim has urged "everyone to read the Koran and the Hadith (a collection of Mohammed's sayings which most Sunni Muslims regard as holy) to see for themselves what Islam preaches". The JTF web site has a link to a leading Islamic web site which translates the entire Koran into English. Chaim has urged everyone "to read the Koran as translated by the Muslims themselves". JTF claims that "after reading the Koran, no one will doubt" that Islam commands its followers to "either forcibly convert or physically exterminate all non-Muslims". JTF and Jewish Establishment organizations JTF's views have been condemned by Jewish Establishment organizations such as the Anti-Defamation League and the Simon Wiesenthal Center, with the latter organization listing the JTF web site as a "hate group". JTF responds by calling these organizations "cowardly self-hating Jews who support handing over the sacred Land of Israel to the PLO Nazi terrorists". JTF frequently criticizes its liberal Jewish critics. JTF and Israeli government JTF's weekly Hebrew broadcasts have drawn strong criticism from the Sharon government in Israel. Recently, JTF broadcaster Noam Federman, the spiritual leader of the Hilltop Youth who lives in Hebron, was summoned to the headquarters of Shabak, the Israeli secret police, where he was questioned for 18 hours during a two day period about his JTF program. Federman refused to answer any of Shabak's questions, and was informed that a criminal investigation had been initiated against him for allegedly using the JTF broadcasts to incite thousands of young Israeli Jews to engage in a civil disobedience campaign to protest Sharon's plans to retreat from the Gaza District and Northern Samaria. The Israeli prosecutor's office and the Shabak claim that the JTF broadcasts are largely responsible for the growing wave of road and highway blockings taking place throughout Israel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_Task_Force Now don't say this is not a jewish group. This group is making peace on this earth difficult, combined with the rest of the religious groups, impossible!! Their are even more radical jewish groups out there too. I mean no disrespect to you or your religion but I still believe that the stubborn non-conformist beliefs of each religion are stopping world peace. Humanism, combined with each religion, is the key to getting all the fighting groups together!!!! Do you actually thing our resources and our ecology can hold out against another 2000 years of us bickering over who is right? All the different religions need to get past there core beliefs instilled when we thought the world was flat!!! Is it time yet, to make a few changes?? | As much as I feel that people have a right to their religious beliefs, as I think that they need them to cope with life the way that civilization is set up, I totally agree that religion is standing in the way of solving the world's problems, especially in the middle east. As for the books we rely on for our religious instruction, they are not infallible, they were written by humans and are full of contradictions. If you truly believe that the word of God is contained in these books, you need to re-read them, these books were written when superstition and fear shaped our view of the world. Nature was the enemy we had to make submit because if we didn't, it would kill us and take over our world given to us by God. We know a lot more about the world now. We understand the idea of eco-systems and biology, and even more importantly, we know that humans have caused the extinction of species directly. Though some of us still don't want to accept all of this, we need to change the way we behave on a planetary scale as we are leading to our own destruction. Our Task must be to free ourselves... by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures, the whole of nature, and its beauty. | I choose not to judge any religions. I am more likely to judge the effects of a multitude of bickering religions. I love how each person that is religious fails to admit the negativeness of diverse beliefs. No one is willing to step outside that circle of defense and call a spade a spade. The way religions are set up the only thing that people feel required to do is defend their religion. No one is willing to admit that this is what is keeping the people of the world from coming together to stop all the madness, world hunger, our constant abuse of the ecology, the abuses we as people subject each other to. Our organized religion's reluctance to compromise at all is why our world is at war and is why it has been at war for thousands of years. Our current, and relatively newly aquired knowledge of the world requires us all to modify our religious beleifs, to include the new information we now know as fact, so we can all work together to save our planet. The only way, to get all the religions together, that I can see, is Humanism. Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong. ~Richard Armour There are many men of principle in both parties in America, but there is no party of principle. ~Alexis de Tocqueville | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Jews will never be able to take over the world. Their numbers is too low. It doesn't matter how hard they try. Moslems on the other hand will do it in about 50 years. | |||||||||||||||||||||

And the Muslims will not ever be able to take over the world. They'll kill each other before they even get close to that. Just look at the Sunnis and Shi'ites in Iraq.
