Osama bin Laden died in December 2001

Quote:
KABUL, Afghanistan (CNN) -- Osama bin Laden is "probably" dead, but former Taliban leader Mullah Omar is alive, Afghan President Hamid Karzai has said. "I would come to believe that [bin Laden] probably is dead," Karzai said on CNN's "Late Edition" on Sunday. "But still, you never know. He might be alive. Five months ago, six months ago, I was thinking that he was alive. "The more we don't hear of him, and the more time passes, there is the likelihood that he probably is either dead or seriously wounded somewhere."

Israeli intelligence: Bin Laden is dead, heir has been chosen TEL AVIV -- Osama Bin Laden appears to be dead but his colleagues have decided that Al Qaida and its insurgency campaign against the United States will continue, Israeli intelligence sources said. The Israeli sources said Israel and the United States assess that Bin Laden probably died in the U.S. military campaign in Afghanistan in December. They said the emergence of new messages by Bin Laden are probably fabrications, Middle East Newsline reported.

al-Wafd, Wednesday, December 26, 2001 Vol 15 No 4633

News of Bin Laden's Death and Funeral 10 days ago

Islamabad - A prominent official in the Afghan Taleban movement announced yesterday the death of Osama bin Laden, the chief of al-Qa'da organization, stating that binLaden suffered serious complications in the lungs and died a natural and quiet death. The official, who asked to remain anonymous, stated to The Observer of Pakistan that he had himself attended the funeral of bin Laden and saw his face prior to burial in Tora Bora 10 days ago. He mentioned that 30 of al-Qa'da fighters attended the burial as well as members of his family and some friends from the Taleban. In the farewell ceremony to his final rest guns were fired in the air. The official stated that it is difficult to pinpoint the burial location of bin Laden because according to the Wahhabi tradition no mark is left by the grave. He stressed that it is unlikely that the American forces would ever uncover any traces of bin Laden.

Right...

The Bush Administration would gain a lot more from a dead Bin Laden.

This was posted in the conspiracy theory board. Hence people are going to post conspiracy theories. Don't look there if you don't like to read it.

Not to mention the fact that a dead Bin Laden would enable us to admit the end to this war on terror. Where are the attacks from Al Quada? Our president recently took money away from the security of our borders. Do you actually atribute the lack of attacks inside our borders to Bush's home security? Wake up Dude! Even John McCain has pointed to the trumped up claim of a threat to our security. Do you think if we proved Bin Laden was dead Bush would have the leverage he has? No body equals more money and power for Bush!!!!!!!!!!

Where's bin Laden........
For your future reference, here's what Bush has said about bin Laden at various points in time, depending on how he was trying to spin things:
"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him."
- G.W. Bush, 9/13/01
"I want justice...There's an old poster out West, as I recall, that said, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive,'"
- G.W. Bush, 9/17/01, UPI
"...Secondly, he is not escaping us. This is a guy, who, three months ago, was in control of a county [sic]. Now he's maybe in control of a cave. He's on the run. Listen, a while ago I said to the American people, our objective is more than bin Laden. But one of the things for certain is we're going to get him running and keep him running, and bring him to justice. And that's what's happening. He's on the run, if he's running at all. So we don't know whether he's in cave with the door shut, or a cave with the door open -- we just don't know...."
- Bush, in remarks in a Press Availability with the Press Travel Pool,
The Prairie Chapel Ranch, Crawford TX, 12/28/01, as reported on
official White House site
"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02
"I am truly not that concerned about him."
- G.W. Bush, responding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts,
3/13/02 (The New American, 4/8/02)
—"Because he's hiding…" Bush, explaining why Osama bin Laden has yet to be captured. (Washington Post interview, Jan. 16, 2005)

Bush knows he's hiding, on a 1600 acre ranch in Texas!

Bush's approval ratings are down the tube. One of his main reasons for invading is running around uncaptured. Americans want Bin Ladens head. Bin Laden is worth more to the Administration dead than alive. Bush can get any patsy to spread fear, but a dead Bin Laden is gold.

Im insulted! I am not a Bush supporter, Tyreay.

That's not true, a dead Bin Laden would prove that Bush is getting the job done. If we were to get rid of the main leader, it would appear as if Bush finally got something right.

Nope
Neb, I certainly wasn't calling you a Bush supporter but I do have to point out that you a totally wrong. Bush never wants to find Bin Laden. He is not Gold if we catch him. He is Gold if we don't. Are you aware Bush has said he will run for another 4 years (some loophole that makes it legal because this country is at war) If we find Bin Laden do you think it will be easy for him to keep his dictatorship? Think again my friend. He is going to build up the threat from Iran and continue his claim that Al Quada is a threat. I understand how your stance is guiding you but please reasess this situation.
I am sure you have noticed a trend in his decision making, that points to a self-centered, self-preserving, agenda. We all know none of his decisions concerning our war in Iraq were based on any real needs of this country. The people of this country were ready to accept any target after 9/11. It took one day of investigation to claim we knew it was Bin Laden. Come off it. If you see no conspiracy it really must be a matter of perspective. Bush planned to go in before 9/11. Step back and take another look.
