Marijuana
Marijuanas short term effects include temporary memory loss, a slowing of motor skills, distortion of perception.

It is my understanding that anesthetics used in hospital also have some of tese effects.

What is it exactly that makes anesthesia legal and marijuana not (in hspitals)?

It may be the fact that over generations marijuana has become an addiction to many of the humans throughout history. If some of the anesthetics used now a days were known as "adictive" do you think that hospitals would be making it look like it was "alright if in dire need of it"?

Advil is a drug that soothes miranes. In my perception, marijuana also soothes pain.

Yes, if you OD on mariuana, you can die. Same with all medications. Just becaue it's nationally known as harmful, it isn't used. Advil is constantly being used as am implement for suicide. That isn't the case fr marijuana. I am aware that marijuana has killed, but it wasn't from over doseing. It is physically impossible to OD from marijuana. You can't consume enoug to overdose.

I am for Medical Marijuna. That is my perception... doesn't have to be yours.
Wise people became wise by finding out the who, what, when, where, why, and how. How wise are you?

Hey tia! welcome back.

I am for medical Marijuana as well, I don't use the stuff myself, but I do know some that it helps.... I know a few that it doesn't help but they use it anyway

I am for marijuana but not just for medical purposes Tia.

I don't feel that any government has the right to ban a completely naturally occuring plant from its citizens. The plants found on earth are for everyone to use and shouldn't be restricted in any manner.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

To me it is just another law that makes a hypocrite out of Christian America.

If you believe that God made the earth and everything on it why in the world would you let people restrict God's creation such is done with marijuana!?!?!

I guess that is what happens when you base morality off of fantasy?????

God created hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods. Therefore why should Government worry about saving people who live in areas affected by them?? For that matter why should government pay to rebuild after these disasters. God made them so by your flawed logic we should not restrict any of God's creations.

BTW Hev, were you one of those vocal critics about the governments reaction to Katrina.

I guess it's not only Christian America than can be such hypocrites.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

I'm not sure my use qualifies as medical...but I can tell you I DO feel better afterwards!

Marijuana was used for centuries as common medical practice. But like so many other things we have adopted from other cultures, the ultra-conservatives have bastardized and villified it's use. I do find it a tad ironic that those who often lunch over martinis and scotch are debating the ill-effects of marijuana.
We have reason to believe that man first walked upright to free his hands for masturbation.

I don't drink or blaze ganja any more. I used to. Often both at the same time, followed quickly by a cigarette (which I also no longer use.)

Frankly, from a personal POV, I consider both drinking and smoking weed to be a tremendous waste of time.

Still, when used in certian situations and in moderation, they both can serve medicimal purposes.

But for one to be legal and the other not, is, IMO... really "dopey."

Haw, haw, haw.
