| Ergot poisoning could be responsible for many of the recorded miracles. It could be responsible for many of the recorded visions of God. It also could be responsible for some of the major ancient wars. This seriously could have effected a lot of our written history. It is actually a pretty intertesting subject. Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong. ~Richard Armour There are many men of principle in both parties in America, but there is no party of principle. ~Alexis de Tocqueville | |||||||||||||||||||||

Anyway, here's the wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MKULTRA Also check out CoIntelPro if you don't already know what it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cointelpro It's been theorized that CoIntelPro may have even been involved with the Assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., but that's something for the Conspiracy Theories forum. Though, it is certain that they've been involved in a number of assassinations- black panther party memebers, the attempted assassination of environmental activists Judi Bari & Daryl Cherney, etc. \"Are we justified in using articles, no matter how convenient it may be for us to use them, that we know were produced in conditions which bored and even stultified the human beings who had to make them?\" -John Seymour | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| COINTELPRO is an acronym for a series of FBI counterintelligence programs designed to neutralize political dissidents. Although covert operations have been employed throughout FBI history, the formal COINTELPRO's of 1956-1971 were broadly targeted against radical political organizations. In the early 1950s, the Communist Party was illegal in the United States. The Senate and House of Representatives each set up investigating committees to prosecute communists and publicly expose them. (The House Committee on Un-American Activities and the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee, led by Senator Joseph McCarthy). When a series of Supreme Court rulings in 1956 and 1957 challenged these committees and questioned the constitutionality of Smith Act prosecutions and Subversive Activities Control Board hearings, the FBI's response was COINTELPRO, a program designed to "neutralize" those who could no longer be prosecuted. Over the years, similar programs were created to neutralize civil rights, anti-war, and many other groups, many of which were said to be "communist front organizations." As J. Edgar Hoover, longtime Director of the FBI, put it http://www.icdc.com/~paulwolf/cointelpro/cointel.htm | |||||||||||||||||||||
