| "Why is marijuana not legal? It's a natural plant that grows in the dirt> Do you know what's not natural?? Eighty year old dudes with hard-ons. That's not natural. But we got pills for that. We're dedicating medical resources to keep old guys erect, but we are putting people in jail for something that grows in the dirt" Greg Giraldo I don't think anyone can improve on that logic. Pot should be legal. There is no logical argument to keep it illegal. The real reason its is illegal is because it is seen as a drug that inhibits people ability to work. Reefer Madness is one of the funniest films ever made btw, what sort of stupid moron believes anything they said in that film In the end the just say no campaign has done as much for drugs as 'Have a Nice' Day has done for depression (to paraphrase Dr E Tyson....) | |||||||||||||||||||||

| to legalize! Compared to many other drugs marijuana is the less dangerous drug. Many drugs you can over dose which can cause servere problems with your organs and posibly kill you. Marijuana, if you over dose, it will like make you sleep for a long time.. or get fat. Many drugs causes loss of brain cells, liver damage, heart failure and many other harmful problems.Marijuana may cause COPD in the long run but its not as bad as a pack of cigarettes. All Marijuana does is numb things and make you respond slower. Marijuana should be legalized at a certain age like cigarettes and beer. Marijuana causes less damage than anyother drugs but yet no one will legalize it? Its BULLSH**!.It could help so manythings like health and economy but no one will approve?!?!WHY ARE POLITICIANS SO REDICULOUS! ITS OUR OWN RIGHT IF WE WANT TO SMOKE IT!!!. good thing RON PAUL agrees..he's running for president by the way...... In closing this blog i believe marijuana should be legalized but for a responsible age like 18 and older. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| One of the other effects of pot is a tendency to non-violence. Why would the government want a bunch of happy, non-violent people? There is a common misconception that legalising drugs would make the problem even larger. The fact is, when you decriminalise drugs, what you get is an overall improvement in more then one aspect of the "drug problem". You get people off the streets committing crimes, and get them into a program where they can maintain their habit and hold a job. And possibly becoming a productive tax paying member of society. Of course that won't occur in 100% of the cases, but it would for a large portion. I speaking about the harder drugs out there, not pot. Pot is less harmful physically, psychologically, and for society then alcohol is. There is no tar or nicotine in pot, and it is not thought to cause cancer. If anything, it is thought to slow the growth of some cancers. Marijuana should be legalised tomorrow. One of the major things standing in the way of that, is the alcohol, cigarette, and pharmaceutical lobbies. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| I think the dumbest thing about marijuana being illegal is that you can't tax it. While millions of Americans toke regularly and feed underground economies, I'd rather see that money going towards health care, our schools or simply back into the "mainstream" economy. Another reason I think it is dumb that marijuana is illegal revolves around my beliefs about God. I'm agnostic and think it is outrageous that a government could make anything that is 100% of nature illegal. --- help me Instant Runoff Voting, you're my only hope --- "There is no such thing as laziness. | Actually, I agree. I think all drugs should be legal. But with employers having liberal right to fire for drug tests and health care insurance denied for those addicted. That would weed out many of the losers. Whatcha think? | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Employers have that right, as it's defined in the law. No problem there. As far as medical insurance goes, they would be no different then any other American. But we do have plenty of alcholics, drug addicts, food addicts, etc., already on the insurance compnaies member lists, don't we? | |||||||||||||||||||||
