you have not read my post, have you?? this does NOT scan your brain, it detects alchahol on your breath. it does not determine if you are going to speed or not, it doesnt even record speed. if you blow above a certain limit, then the car will not start. THAT IS IT! if anything this is like airport security, when the security guards chek your luggage for anything harmfull to others the only thing they are looking for is anything harmful, not to look through your dirty laundry. YOU in particular may have never tryed to blow up a plane, but you allow them to search your luggage anway because you know that they are doing this to ensure your safty. this is what the interlock does, it is not looking to catch you speeding, as it is designed only to detect alchahol.

A black box doesn't scan your brain either. You aren't reading my posts either. I know the interlock you are talking about. It is currently in use for some people.

The hypothetical brain scan was just that, a hypothetical. The black boxes on the other hand are a reality depending on what make car you have. And many people aren't happy about it.

It really doesn't matter though. I don't think drunk driving interlocks are gonna fly for all drivers. Just those with prior convictions. It assumes guilt and requires you to prove innocence. Most people aren't gonna go for that in their cars.

MADD is out there to help save lives. Still, it is so sad to see people killed by a drunk driver. Such as a Mexican national plowing into a CHP officer two years ago in Oceanside, CA. The driver was convicted and is now in state prison.
