| you have not read my post, have you?? this does NOT scan your brain, it detects alchahol on your breath. it does not determine if you are going to speed or not, it doesnt even record speed. if you blow above a certain limit, then the car will not start. THAT IS IT! if anything this is like airport security, when the security guards chek your luggage for anything harmfull to others the only thing they are looking for is anything harmful, not to look through your dirty laundry. YOU in particular may have never tryed to blow up a plane, but you allow them to search your luggage anway because you know that they are doing this to ensure your safty. this is what the interlock does, it is not looking to catch you speeding, as it is designed only to detect alchahol. The hypothetical brain scan was just that, a hypothetical. The black boxes on the other hand are a reality depending on what make car you have. And many people aren't happy about it. Auto Insight: Black Boxes In Autos Raise Questions - Automotive News Story - WDIV Detroit It really doesn't matter though. I don't think drunk driving interlocks are gonna fly for all drivers. Just those with prior convictions. It assumes guilt and requires you to prove innocence. Most people aren't gonna go for that in their cars. http://www.automotivedigest.com/view...ticlesID=23334 https://www.faceproject.org/FreshSto...y-Story-1.html Last edited by fxashun; 06-30-2008 at 03:51 PM. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| ya, well most people dont relize that these could do much more good than harm, is it realy to much to ask for people to take a minute to blow in a little machine for the greater good?? | |||||||||||||||||||||

| MADD is out there to help save lives. Still, it is so sad to see people killed by a drunk driver. Such as a Mexican national plowing into a CHP officer two years ago in Oceanside, CA. The driver was convicted and is now in state prison. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105 | |||||||||||||||||||||

| In Florida, you blow to start the car, and then at intervals to keep you from cranking the car, and then going down the road drinking, or letting it idle as you party. There is a monthly charge to 'read' it, as well as the installation charge. Under those circumstances, conviction, I have no problem with it. In no way am I willing to have such a device as 'standard equipment' for all cars. | |||||||||||||||||||||
