Here too! I hate that shit! When I visited Enlgand a few years back I bought a fifth of vodka at a grocery store and was thrilled about it.

I didn't even have to go that far. Buying beer in a gas station in NY was unbelievable. Well, I did go to Italy...that was amazing, it doesn't matter there, definitely have to go back someday.
But it don't take much to get me by
So just booze me up and get me high

But the fact that you have to go to a designated "Beer Distributor" sucks. Back home you could get beer of liquor at the grocery store, 7-11, liquor store, just about anywhere, anytime day of night, any day of the week.

Dude, you can get beer anywhere here too, distributors are just for buying cases. Only Liquor is controlled by the state. You can get beer at any little store or stop'n'go...

You need to spend more time in the hood...

Actually, on second thought, you probably shouldn't...

Yeah, but you can go to the bar or the restataunt or the stop n' go for your sixer, but they charge twice what you'd pay in a non-beer-fascist state.
It must be a commonwealth thing, Virginia and Penn have a lot of the same silly laws, esp. concerning alcohol.

That's exactly it... it is a Commonwealth thing. The silly thing in PA is that you can not buy or sell a car or any major appliances on Sunday. I guess god hates refridgerators...

i honestly dont understand why alcohol is such a big deal. I live in Germany at the moment and they have a great system. You can buy beer and wine but not drink in public from like age 13 or 14, then at age 16 you are allowed to drink in public and you have a slightly larger variety of alcohol and then at 18 everything is legal for you. And if i remember correctly alcohol is one of the biggest goods that kept america alive in the early ages. So why is everyone against it?? I find it quite hypocritical. And also I think that if your parent is with you then it doesnt matter. your parent should be able to decide what you do and not do. The country didnt go through 16 hours of restless labor to have you. I believe that if it was lowered, at first everyone would go crazy because it has been so high for so long, but eventually it would be normal and things would be better.

Well said and welcome to the boards! I think the age should be lowered to 18. If you can fight for this country at the age of 18, you should be allowed to drink at the age of 18. I visited Italy over the summer and most of my cousins friends who were 17, were drinking at the bars responsibly. Lower the age will probably make people more responsible when they consume alcohol. Just my opinion.
