Drinking age poll:

Someone thought it would be funny if I had 14 as one of the drinking ages.

I voted for 14 sort of seriously... In many european countries where the drinking age is low people don't abuse drinking like they do in America. There is a lot less binge drinking and by the time people get their license's the understand the consequences of drinking.

I agree with 18 and above, because at age 18 you can fight in a war so you whould be able to have proper judgement in making decisions about alcohol. 14 is just too young in America because of pressures from society as it is on young teenagers; alcohol would be too much of a responsibility for people under the age of 18. once you are 18 you are legal adult, so you should be able to have all the rights that come with the age and be able to be responsible for all actions as well.

When Massachusetts lowered its drinking age to 18 drunk driving deaths went up. Also, lowering the drinking age makes it easier for people who are younger to get alcohol from their 18 year old friends.

In countries like Italy, Spain and Germany where the drinking age is much lower than America many people don't drink as excessively as in America because they dont have to sneak around to do so.

My cousin is from Italy and he laughs very much at the American drinks here. He says since you are able to drink at a young age in Italy, everyone is responsible and knows when enough is enough. He said here in America all the college students/teens drinking responsibilities are horrible.

Yeah that was my main argument... if people don't abuse alcohol it's not a real big problem
